    Our Waking Life   By Tommy Grainger     ‘The Road Trip’       Hope drives us to a distant land,   We know not what may lie ahead.    Sun-kissed grass touches the horizon,   And the olive trees salute our passing.     Alentejo sure is a big place, one might say,   We need to explore more my friend, smiles the other.   The beauty, unmatched, as the sun burns red,   Blazing from behind to spur on the adventure.     Oxen, horses and curious old men,    All blur past us with very little to say.   But no words can translate this journey we all take,   A journey of waking up and leaving reality behind .     The storks are nesting above us,    A sign that the road ahead is clear.   Th is chosen path was gifted with fortune,   We shall unite and begin our waking life.        ‘High on Heat’     Heat, heat, heat, ...

Episode 110 'January Blues. Oh and February. Probably'

As I gorge through a packet of Maria biscuits alongside an ill-timed mug of coffee (it's after 18:00) I consider my options. Having a mental list of things is no good, due to the inevitable subconscious winds of change that blow priorities right out of the other side of your head. I need a physical list. Something that I can pin to my laptop or wardrobe door to remind me of the outrageous number of tasks, jobs, projects, ideas and adventures I try to juggle all at the same time. I say outrageous; perhaps others deem it healthy? Healthy to keep busy and follow such keen interests and hobbies?     I cannot deny this, of course. Those who choose a career in the arts are blessed with a creativity that can touch many hearts whilst subsequently earning a (relatively modest) living. But I digress; back to this list of mine! Episode 47 'Dreaming of Scarlett Johansson'

It finally happened. One of my hair brained schemes actually paid off, and it might not even be awarded or met with such enthusiasm as my own. Actually, if there were anyone who understands this achievement of mine you are either a guy who admires female Marvel characters or the nomadic tribe who discovered cheese. I shall elaborate... For those who know me may of heard of my frivolous tendency to have intricate and bizarre dreams, all of which I cannot explain. For those who know me a little more may recognise my erratic notion of enhancing said dreams by eating cheese before bed time. Once thought a myth, I now deem it conclusive that heavily churned dairy products really does assist in the mind bending creation of the best dreams ever.  Now returning to the topic of Marvel.
