It has been a long summer, but one that seems to have passed in the blink of an eye. Many things have happened, but I also feel like I have absolutely nothing to blog about. An age has past since the Annecy festival, and I sit here contemplating my 2024 thus far in regards to my life and career. But unfortunately, at the moment my writing currently goes hand in hand with my emotions (an interesting transition from the days of old, where my frivolously upbeat writing about how I built a pirate ship that one time , also seems so long ago) and I find it hard to focus on just the artwork.     Perhaps my sensitive side is getting the better of me. But I do actually have an explanation for this (I think) and it coincides with one of the many personal projects I have begun, now that I am utterly free of everything. Episode 114 'The Writer, the Workshop and the Portfolio'

It seems particularly strange to come back to my blog after months of writing for other projects; writing that has fundamentally been in the same  style as my blog. Therein lies a kind of paradox, where my blog has been applied to other ventures like the fictional novel and script writing (I am currently doing) and it could become a little overwhelming. Is the blog taking over everything? Perhaps, but that's just my style. And fortunately, I haven't gotten sick of it yet!  It is the end of 2024. I am heeding the temptation to write a review of the year, because that means thinking about everything again (and I don't particularly want to do that). But there have been highlights and positives that I can build upon and go forth into the new year, possibly with a little more focus and less of a self conscious, self destructive mindset. Episode 37 'Stop-motion Pro and a spanking new camera'

Yes, Christmas does come early for some and for me it wasn't soon enough. I have been struggling with inspiration and/or motivation (as some might know) for the past month and have therefore put a few things on hold. The lack of finances got the better of me and I pursued the only option I had at the time (again, some might know this) which was the role of a caterer in Princethorpe College; i.e. a dinner man. Yes, you heard correctly. However, the reason I mentioned an early Christmas was because of the new Canon 600D camera I have recently bought due to PAY DAY and also a birthday/Christmas money combo from my Father. So it was basically down to him that I can now really crack on with animating with this amazing HD quality camera. I should be able to afford animating software (namely Stop Motion Pro 7.5) and in the new year I will soon get some home made animations out there. Watch this space! Here is my newborn.
