Episode 23 'More test Animations'

This is an example of the blue screen technique used when animating the 2D leaf. The chroma key tool was then used to mask out the blue area around the leaf so that an image of the forest could be inserted in the background.

    wow blue screen, whats the difference between a blue screen and a green screen?

    it just depends on the object that you animate and its colour. For example if i animated the green leaf on green screen then it wouldn't be able to tell much difference between the two...but if you use blue then its a bigger difference in colour.

It's rather challenging to write a book.  It is difficult to keep (and maintain) a rhythm or a consistent flow of writing. The word is that you need to write something everyday, regardless of its merit. I believe this to be true, as you cannot edit an empty page, and yet I have recently gone many weeks without writing a single word. Factors, excuses, delays and other jobs are the usual culprits. Self doubt and imposter syndrome soon follow. So ultimately, it can become yet another shelved project that fades into the ether of once great ideas. Episode 114 'The Writer, the Workshop and the Portfolio'

It seems particularly strange to come back to my blog after months of writing for other projects; writing that has fundamentally been in the same  style as my blog. Therein lies a kind of paradox, where my blog has been applied to other ventures like the fictional novel and script writing (I am currently doing) and it could become a little overwhelming. Is the blog taking over everything? Perhaps, but that's just my style. And fortunately, I haven't gotten sick of it yet!  It is the end of 2024. I am heeding the temptation to write a review of the year, because that means thinking about everything again (and I don't particularly want to do that). But there have been highlights and positives that I can build upon and go forth into the new year, possibly with a little more focus and less of a self conscious, self destructive mindset. Episode 64 'The E4 esting'

So after three nights of animating (due to no efficient method of blocking out natural light I chose to animate after nightfall for consistency; much like the Dark Knight of animation) and one outrageous nudge of the camera, taking me over twenty minutes to correct, I have finished the E4 esting animation clip. For something that is only ten seconds long it sure was a taxing process, but I am blaming the overly warm conditions of my room (being in the attic) as it seems to accommodate its own micro climate.  For those of you who are unsure what an 'esting' is then follow the link HERE  to see a series of short animated clips that make up that odd vacuum between advert and programme.  I must admit that I was not overly happy with the green screen element.
