Episode 70 '2013'

...*yawns* ...*stretches his fingers* It's taken me over ten days to write this blog so there may be some really hurried sections. Or some really naff sections. For this I can merely bequeath you to enjoy the photographs rather than my grumpy typing. There are sentences in past tense, present tense and stuff all over the bloody shop. It's just been all Thunderbirds are go at the studio in Birmingham. So I have decided to summarise my 2013 year in a post with as little writing as possible and as many visual aids (stop that) as I can muster. As the new year has already begun, I shall be typing furiously to finish this post, but have immediately jeopardised this by watching the Christmas special of Father Ted. So fifty five minutes later I can continue. It has certainly been a productive and progressive year for me within the animation industry. I have placed a hat upon my head especially to take it off again to Mr Drew Roper because without the support from him and the ...

Episode 42 'The Wall, London and Star Wars in 3D'

Three major topics to cover in this post and possibly a couple of minor ones. I will start with the bad news (which might not be necessarily bad BUT temporarily it sucks). It seems as though my Brothers band is having some problems with the single and the track is on hold until further notice. Essentially, this means that the music video is not going to happen for now. Me and my friend St...

As well as adding to my show reel and generally polishing up the CV, I have taken on random projects to keep me busy; some of which I have mentioned on here before. My most recent one is for a friend, Taylor, who needed some illustrations for her book. I don't think I will be getting paid for this but I still like the idea that my work will still be somewhere out there....besides, I can't be picky! Maybe she'll buy me some new paintbrushes. I haven't managed to scan in the drawings but only photographed them, so the quality it a little lax. The basic storyline (as far as I understand) revolves around a school girl named Angela and her rebellious friends as they go about their daily life in an American college.     The bottom left image shows the chosen design for Angela. My client Taylor (as well as my mother actually) really liked this girl and th...
